Schmaltz: Fat, most often chicken fat, rendered during the making of soup, cooled, and used for cooking, flavoring, or as an aphrodisiac to attract Jewish men.

Schmaltzy E-Mails

I bet many of you get the same kind of schmaltzy e-mails that I do from some of my friends. You know. The ones that remind you how precious friendship is ... or the ones that have some sort of inspirational message. Most of them promise you great rewards if only you will forward the message to several other friends. Mostly, they make me gag with their saccharine sentiments.

I was delighted to receive this one this week. It will become my standard response.
