If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one to observe it, Is Schrödinger's cat alive or dead?

I've noticed the Wagnerian Opera in Five Acts which is Boycott Fallout continues.

It's all got me wondering... If, because I was off doing RL things, I didn't read or post anything to LiveJournal on Friday, but knew nothing of this "Protest", Did I participate or not?

No. Protest must be a conscious act.

And if, due to the lack of knowledge, I posted something Friday, would I be breaking the Boycott?

How's life at Mauschwitz? Or are you at Duckenwald?

Well, thus far I've seen:

The pre-strike battle cries

The during-strike snarkiness of a few (but very few) of the non-strikers

The post-strike offense taken by the strikers, followed by the inevitable de-friending by the offended

The post-de-friending offense taken by the de-friended-non-strikers

The "comebacks" by strikers, claiming that the non-strikers were "stirring up drama", "flinging shit", etc., by being offended at being de-friended

Serve

Volley

Lather

Rinse

Repeat

[livejournal.com profile] that_grr has called the last few days "histrionics". You've called 'em a "Wagnerian Opera In Five Acts".

I think you're closer, though I'd call it a real-life enactment of What's Opera, Doc?.

I knew nothing of it, but then I have been trying to stay alive here.

And now I see [livejournal.com profile] quirkstreet is bitching and moaning at those who call/called the strikers "lemmings" and/or "sheep" and/or "sheeple", calling the callers "lemmings"/"sheep"/"sheeple" themselves for using those descriptors for the strikers.

Jebus. Did everyone, on both "sides", get a few extra bowlfuls of Pee-Wee Herman-style "I know you are, but what am I?" the last several mornings, and I just missed out? If there's anything that drives me straight to BatShitCrazy it's infinite recursion, and there seems to be a Heapin' Helpin' of it on LJ nowadays...

Me, I've been so fucking busy (in between consuming Peeps® of questionable provenance) that I've missed that whole damned thing.

Thank goodness.

Questionable? Maybe. Preferable? Hell Yes!

Oh.. BTW, Did I ever mention that 31 days after 09/02/1961, I arrived at 281 22nd Ave, 94121? Unfortunately, Dad screwed it up by going to work for the Feds and moving us to Long Beach (and later, much worse, to TX).

No, you never did! Wow! We were on the same side of town, just across the park!

You know, your native status is for life. Not many benefits any more, but you can at least say it. How long until you moved to LB?

I think my sister was ~1 1/2 maybe 2, so I would've been just shy of 4 years old. The bigger mistake was not foreseeing the CA real estate explosion and selling in LB in '72 (90813 not too far from the airport).

I still think I would've been much happier and successful had I been able to exercise what was then our birthright and attend the UC/CA-ST systems. Oh well, c'est la vie.
