Now that we may, we will.

We've always considered CA to be home and although we could have gone to Canada or waited for MA to repeal the out-of-state ban, neither had the appeal of getting married "at home."

Be nice to "trade-in" the DP paperwork.

Now we just have to decide whether to go ahead now or wait until mid-November.

thinking...

I was sitting here reading your entry and thinking, "why wait til mid-November?" then it hit me like a ton of bricks.

Elections.

Ah, very wise grasshopper!

Wait 'til November for two reasons:

1. To see how the election turns out.

2. The weather is nicer here than in Dallas in November. Or so I've been told.

Don't let go of the paperwork. Even though we are married legally here, there are still plenty of people who are ignorant, can and do make things difficult. With that in mind, we still have health care proxies, durable power of attorney, etc. to make sure no one short of an asshole phobe judge is going to keep us apart if something bad happens to one of us.

Before or after November, just let us know.

We have our civil union paperwork from Vermont. I wonder if they will honor that union and give us our marriage license?
