Wachovia Becomes Next Banking Domino to Fall

Citigroup Agrees to Buy Wachovia's Banking Business (Bloomberg)

Interesting, the news last night was that Wells-Fargo were in deep negotiations with Wachovia.

Frankly, as Wells Fargo is my bank ... I'd prefer they not go around buying "distressed assets" or whatever one might call this kind of thing.

trust me, if Wells was going to buy it, Citi wouldn't have gotten it but I have to wonder why Citi is doing this when they aren't in the best of shape financially...

I saw Grupo Santander on the list of would be suitors for Wachovia. They ended up buying Britain's Bradford & Bingley (B&B) instead.
