Something I've been mulling over more and more the last few days: some of this no-same-sex marriage bullshit a huge restriction on religious freedom, as well. In most states, a rabbi, a priest, a Mormon religious leader, an AME minister, a Baptist minister, and a Unitarian or UCC minister can all sign the same *civil* paperwork authenticating a *state* marriage between a man and a woman who just got a *religious* ceremony in their church.
But if the Unitarian or UCC minister, or the rabbi, marry two men or two women, their religious authority is BLOCKED from being good enough for the state.
