I don't hear much about what we've found in with New Jersey civil unions - it's not about what the NJ government recognizes, it's what employers and other business do and don't recognize. People with NJ civil unions that are supposedly equal to marriage are being told by businesses that while they provide benefits based on marriage, they don't provide them based on civil unions. That's why I expect we will have full marriage in NJ soon.
