Yup! I'm a Slackware lover myself... I know it might be considered an 'outdated' flavor, but it gets the job done!

I love the ease of use with it, and the direct file-tree system.

Other than the kernel, there isn't much difference between a Mac and Linux. Sure there are different distributions, but I didn't see a comment on that.

No no no. The Linux system would be a Tron cycle. It's can go forward, 90 degress left and 90 degress right, but it does so at 1,000 mph.

eh. I'm *thrilled* to have something unix-like under the covers of my macs. It lets me spend a lot of time in Terminal.app instead of getting frustrated at having to point and click on things.

The big differences is the UI. The Mac is nice, unified and generally clean and works. The various environments like Gnome and KDE are still clunky abominations - just less clunky than they used to be. The last time I played with KDE, it felt like they'd finally got most of their stuff up to Windows 95 levels of usability and then I'd run smack into something that made me feel like I was still running Motif.
