AWWWW ... poor Socks! This is sad news. As a cat person, I thought it was really great to have a "First Cat" in the White House. It's estimated that Socks would've turned 20 years of age this spring, that's a nice long lifespan for a kittycat.
That's a very long time for a cat and it was nice to know he was a rescued stray cat. I see he was kept by a former white house secretary after the Clintons left. I guess with all their traveling and duties the Clinton's couldn't keep him. He was a cute cat!
