From The Washington Independent, an explanation from Joe Barton (R-TX) on how we need to just "adapt" to living with global warming:

... here’s his solid evidence that adaptation has worked in the past:

“During the Little Ice Age, both the Vikings and the British adapted to the cold by changing. I suppose that one possible adaptation response of Viking retrenchment and British expansion is that we’re conducting the hearing today in English instead of Norwegian.”

I am sorry to admit that this is the bozo my neighbors have chosen to represent us in the U.S. Congress. It makes me doubly glad for the Democratic takeover in 2006. Prior to that, Barton was head of the Energy and Commerce Committee.

I've already been taken to task today by GearJock over the Dallas Police Department's recent idiocy. Did you really have to bring up a perfect example of what idiots Texans seem to put in positions of authority???
