Spoke with Doc's nurse this morning.

According to his chart notes, he prescribed the glyburide as 5 mg, 1-2 bid (twice daily) (or 120 tablets/month).

Whichever pharmicist entered the Rx into their computer system entered 5mg, 1 tablet bid (or 60 tables/month).

I'll be very pleased if they ever pass a computer printed prescription requirement.

End result, she was to call the pharmacy and fix the Rx. We'll retest in June after being on the correct dosage for >90 days.

GRRRRR. There should be a record of who entered the script, John...if I were you, I would ask to speak with the pharmacy manager and simply tell him/her about this error with the objective of getting assurances that they will double-check for quality control. This wasn't any life-threatening issue for you, but similar errors have been known to be...they don't know unless someone raises the issue.

My physicians have had the stuff for years. Yours doesn't?

My MD uses printouts for his scripts and I feel so much better for it. My psych doc still writes his by hand so I always make triply sure they're giving me the right pills when I fill it -- and I've caught mistakes that way too.
