furrbearOver the Bosnia kerfluffle, Mrs Clinton insisted yesterday that she had simply misspoken, characterising the false claim as a “minor blip” among the “millions of words” she spoke every day:

<sarcasm>Well, we all "know" math is "hard", "especially for girls".</sarcasm>
Ever notice how politicians tend to speak slower, allowing time to emphasize words?
There are 86400 seconds in a day. To get in a million words in 24 hours would require over 23 words per second.
Professional auctioneers have been clocked at 400 words per minute. At that rate, a million words would take speaking non-stop for 42 hours.
Nothing like a wee bit of hyperbole to "explain" away a misstatement. 'Thousands ' just doesn't carry the whollop of 'Millions'. Too bad 'millions' doesn't carry the believability of the former.
