After the jerks nice folks at RoadRunner tightened up their enforcement of blocking SMTP servers from their dynamic address blocks, and requesting other ISPs not to whitelist any addresses in those blocks, I got to configure sendmail to use a smarthost for relaying.
I was surprised that smarthost@earthling.net and smarthost@tx.rrr.con were available. smarthost was taken at GeeMale, but smarthost.smtp was still available.
I guess I should/could call the Time-Warner folks and see what it would cost for a static IP.
