OK, Calling All Bear Foodies
Jun. 28th, 2008 01:24 pmBear Pool Party & Pot Luck next weekend. Burgers & Hot Dogs. Hubby is doing his Baked Beans again since they were a hit last month.
I'm leaning toward dessert, but don't want to do a cobbler. Was thinking maybe a Rum Raisan Bread Pudding?
Suggestions? Recipes?

Date: 2008-06-28 06:46 pm (UTC)what about a fruit salad? one of my favorites is stonefruit and sectioned orange or grapefruit (but I've also done it with melon and berries) dressed in a rosemary simple syrup (one part sugar to one part water, with one semi-bushy sprig of fresh rosemary, simmer until the sugar is all dissolved), dress it lightly.
sooo good. would also be good if you took out the rosemary and instead put a handful of fresh sliced ginger in the syrup instead.

I prefer using ladyfingers and unsweetened whipped cream. The subtler ssweetness makes the fruit flavor pop ... especially for berries (strawberries, blueberries, etc.).
