It's the modern Gay Bear version of the old Christmas WISH BOOK! It showed up in Sunday's paper and was laying around downstairs.

Don't stick the pages together before I have a look.

It was in Arl. Double-bagged: catalog and bagged Sunday paper in yellow IKEA bag.

There wasn't one in either the Dallas or FW papers in my neck of the woods. :(

Maybe they thought Arl was close enough to the store and put it with the Arlington ed. of the Startle-Gram, but that FtW was too far away. Doesn't make much sense to me 'cause I think you're the same distance or maybe closer than we are.

Oh BTW, TCU Press has issued a reprint of Leonard Sander's 1984 novel Fort Worth.

I thought it translated to "Society built with only hex wrench and screwdriver".

Except that the Wishbook had lots of photos of men in their underwear! I think it is how I got one of my fetishes...

We were at dinner last night and John says "Lets go to Ikea". I guess he saw the new catalog and now it's all about going to Ikea.

If I get sent to HELL, the name of the building will be "Welcome to IKEA"

I must not be gay enough!

IKEA, Scandinavian design. Chinese construction. Bring your screwdriver. I don't get it! It looks like the crap I bought when I went to college with a few styling accents added to make it look like it's worth more than it really is! It's furniture in a box, people! They have similar stuff at Target, K-Mart and Wally World too!

Everything old is new again.
IKEA is building a plant in Danville, VA.
Danville is a former manufacturing center for furniture (cloth mills too, remember Dan River brand?). They packed up the machinery then shipped it and the jobs to China or various 3rd world operations.
NOW that shipping is going up, freighters are slowing down making import more expensive. China imports a huge % of their raw materials. Instead of shipping NC/VA wood to China for production then shipping the goods back it is becoming competitive to produce ACTUAL objects in America.
Whoda thunkit? NPR had a nice segment on this phenomenon last week.
