The Reich Right is screaming about families should be off-limits in political campaigns.

Well, Fine. Then please explain why for the last decade plus, YOU, those on the Right, have made MY family a Campaign Issue.

I think all the GLBT families in the country would like an answer to that question.

Oh yeah, One more thing... Until we're off the table, YOU'RE ON THE TABLE.

It's bullshit anyway - remember all the "Chelsea is ugly" "jokes" when Bill Clinton was President? She was a pre-teen at the time, truly a child that should have been completely off limits.

I'm with you on this all the way.

We're not allowed families. Can't marry. Can't adopt.

We can have roommates and cats.

Well said.

But, I think you are missing the point. If you give lip service to "pro-life", you can do anything. Call the DC madam...oh that's ok. Premarital sex...that's ok too. Pro-life IS the one money (lots and lots)issue for them.

Ah.... "Pro-Life", Therein lies the rub...

These folks are not "Pro-Life". They are Pro-nothing, they are only anti-contraception and antiabortion. They care only for a fetus before it is born and nothing for the welfare and quality of life of the child after birth.

Those are not "Pro-Life" positions. Education. Housing. Healthcare. Proper Nutrition. Living in a Non-abusive environment. Now, THOSE are the real pro-life issues. If anything the Democrats are a much better Pro-Life party than the Republicans.

I was thinking the same thing, but you stated a poit of view better than I could. Additionally though, since what they're specifically talking about is the scrutiny of the pregnancy or Palin's unmarried minor daughter, I feel for that girl - I really do. All she did was make a stupid mistake that thousands have made right along with her.

BUT - her MOTHER has been saying bad things about those OTHER girls from her political and "moral" pulpit for years. Why is it OK for her to interfere in the lives of OTHER people's daughters - but suddenly her own must be spared the same treatment?

I don't want to see a 17-year-old attacked for the sins of her mother, I want to see the mother attacked for her own hypocrisy.
