PAFMA: Putting America First My Ass

Thu Sep 04, 2008 at 03:33:28 PM PDT

Since PUMA has been put to rest by events last week in Denver, I'd thought we should start a new Democratic group: PAFMA: Putting America First My Ass.

While PAFMA acknowledges and honors the service to his country and incredible hardships endured by Lt. Commander John McCain, we are committed to pointing out instances where Senator McCain and Candidate McCain have done anything but the country first.

Now, I am an inferior diarist compared to many of the outstanding and incredibly well researched diaries posted here on a regular basis, and by no means do I have the time or knowledge to compile a complete list of all the times Candidate McCain has arguably failed to put America first. I'll just get the ball rolling, and I hope others can chime in on the comments, and we can build an impressive list!

The dream scenario would be to build an improved list and keep it up until election day (and maybe a Straight Talk Debunker and Flip-Flop Tracker diaries as well!). But all three are probably a pipe dream.

Anyway, here goes:

Keating. Keating. Keating.

He went on in his acceptance address about how the problem was "those who went to Washington to work for themselves, fell to the temptation of..." or something to that effect. He should know. He was one of them. He needs to be beaten over the head repeatedly with this.

Oh yeah, there is that bigamy thing too. While that was not screwing the whole country, it does show an amazing lack of judgment. This is something else that he needs to be beaten over the head with. Repeatedly. He was still married to his defective first wife when he was granted a license to marry St. Cindy.

Yes, the entire family is fair game. I am in total agreement with Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) when he states the same regarding their families not being off-lmits. The very most personal and basic rights of our families have been pushed as wedge item for decades. As that wedge we have been beaten over the head and bloodied over it. It's their turn. I will state one more time there is no spoon high road.

Preach it, Brother Bill.

I'd love to split a pitcher of beer with Barney Frank.

BTW, how's the shop thing progressing?

Just to clarify what I said, the bit about the "defective first wife" is in McCain's view of her at the time. All I know about her is she was in some sort of accident and severely injured. He dumped her while that was going on. I refer to current wife as St. Cindy as she is second only to Mother Theresa (who most people do not realize was a shrewd business beeznatch and believed those folks she was helping needed to suffer to get better) if you follow all of the talking points for her in the RNC promo videos floating about.

Barney Frank has some interesting things on his agenda. He is not quite as adamant and fired up as Kucinich is. I am still looking ahead to see how they play out. Barney Frank has had his bad boy in the house days as well. Think of the "What do congressmen use for bookmarks?" jokes from way back. "Bent over pages." As Bill Maher said, in the scheme of things it isn't really a big deal about who's wee-wee is going in who's hoo-hoo. That is still worlds apart from McCain taking money from Keating, money that was stolen mostly from hapless elderly investors in Keating's enterprises.

The new shop is coming along. I will have phone and internet service on Tuesday afternoon. Once the numbers are good to go I can start with the promotional stuff. There is still much legal-ness to deal with. The wheels there are "moving at the speed of business." I have a line on a sign guy. I need to get my hands on a neon "Laptop Repair" sign. For some reason, most places that still work on computers here at all don't want to touch laptops. More broken ones for us, yay!

I am looking forward to making an extra stupid commercial to run on cable. There will be computers flying out of windows and crashing to the ground below. There may be a Mac close behind one of them (the fruit) just for effect (we work on Macs too!). The mention of spyware will feature someone like me or one of my fat cohorts in a black trench coat with hat and black shades "hiding" behind a tall skinny floor lamp shoulder surfing someone. People remember stupid so that is the concept I am going to run with there.
I need to move some furnishings around there and take some more pictures.

edit: I screwed up and made a paragraph of strike instead of a linky.
