Fort Worth: the bishop writes

Bishop Jack Iker has written 10 Reasons Why Now Is the Time to Realign.

Did you catch the response article on The Lead over at Episcopal Cafe? Pretty good.

That's Katie's post referenced above.

Gawd but I love her. I swear I'd have her babies.

She's attends All Saint's in Fort Worth. That's my old parish from before +Jack purged a lot of clergy (funny how so many parishes turned over completely in '03). It's one of the parishes that +Jack isn't taking out of TEC.

Oh yeah, he's GONE.

The problem is that he SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO BE BISHOP TO START WITH!

He OR +Akerman.

Damn Donatist thieves and liars.
This isn't (just) Hubris, this is almost blasphemous heresy.

...one question that plagues me as I journey out of the closet...

If the Episcopal Church is in such disarray over the election of openly homosexual bishops and "the Church" (as in the world wide Christian church, not just the Episcopalians) cannot accept homosexuality, which is a condemned practice in the scriptures, then what hope do we have of an eternal salvation if we are in violation of the what the big "church" preaches?

It plagues me daily.

The Episcopal Church is NOT in disarray over +Gene's election. 10 of 110 might be. 4 out of 110 bishops in the TEC are upset enough to leave.

Try as I may, I can't find one reference to homosexuality in the Gospels. Your 'salvation' question doesn't worry me. I have no issue with it. Though one of the two priests who have commented so far can probably explain it better than I can. (I can think of four Anglican priests on my FriendsList right off, and a slew of seminarians and clergy of other churches. most of the crowd are Anglican, Lutheran, or Unitarian.)

Try this.
