What If Starbucks Marketed Like the "The Church"

If Starbucks marketed like the church, I think they'd be pushing "the Juan (Valdez) true brew". Only, something they'd roast and ground themselves. Maybe something more like a French Roast or an Espresso. Something a bit more intense that the regular stuff, something that would be an acquired taste.

Membership would involve being baptised with coffee, being completely immersed in a baptismal cup. True believers would acquire the coffee jitters from being filled with the holy essense of the bean. Communion would be with the body of the bean (chocolate covered espresso beans) and the blood (Kahlua?).

Chief baristas would preach against those sinners who took their coffee with cream and sugar, especially those heathen non-drinkers who partook in tea or soft drinks.

Or, maybe not.

I find it interesting that as a CHristian, I find all of this so foreign...

Really?

It's foreign to my practice (Episcopalian), but I have felt those influences when visiting other churches.

Wasn't you, dearheart. I was talking about fundamentalist coffeedrinkers.
