Renaming init, XML service framework similar to Solaris 10,... "Think Different" indeed.

Now if I could find a wireless driver for this damned chipset Toshiba used (AR5007E - different firmware than the AR5006 the kernel detects). Better yet, if they had used mini-PCI, I could just swap out the card. Google is my friend. Google is my friend. Google is my friend...

I know. That was the initial take, then I saw the way they had reworked service management; it shows 'inspiration' from Solaris' Service Management Facility. It's evident just with the brief hunting I did last night (to specify servers for ntpdate when starting ntpd) that Apple have done a substantial reworking to their unix offering. It's much much more than *BSD with a Mach kernel.

Maybe I'm getting my timeline confused, but doesn't MacOS X's service management predate Solaris 10 & the SMF nonsense by a couple of years?
