I sometimes feature Rev Susan Russell of Integrity and All Saint's Episcopal Church of Pasadena, CA. Rev. Bacon is rector of that parish. Enjoy. From Towleroad.

Edbacon The Reverend Ed Bacon's response to a question from a gay man on Oprah yesterday that "being gay is a gift from God" (it's not mentioned in the show summary) has set the Oprah forum boards on fire, with so-called Christians angry at the statement.

The show, on spirituality, was broadcast as part of Oprah's "Best Life Week".

A sermon from Rev. Bacon entitled "Spiritual Practices for the Weary" which addresses marriage equality and was delivered last year at All Saints:

One of the (few) nice things about Fundigelicals is their antigay vitriol is so-o-o wonderfully predictable. One knows what they will say without subjecting oneself to reading it.

Yes I'm (gayandmarried) currently in a wonderful debate with a couple christian chaps named ChristopherN79 and YesOn8won on this website.

Prop 8 - The Musical on Funny or Die.

ChristopherN79 calls gay people "faggots" yet cares SO much about our souls not burning in hell. He attempts to justify using that term by means of it being truth, when he clearly uses it to belittle us "sodomite sinners".

I love how one of them practically shouted "BUT I'M NOT JUDGING!!!" after throwing in a lot of biblical references commented with pejorative adjectives.

The poor poor children that such "christians" are raising.
I pity their having to live with such angry parents.

Bible Camp, anyone?

what a lot of them missed is that after the comment was made, they said there is a differnce between spirituality and religion and they were focused on spirituality.

wished they were listening rather then reacting

What makes me laugh is that christians that say "I'm not religious, I'm spiritual!!!" and even MORE hilarious is, in the next sentence, the christians say atheism is a religion.
