Naw. It's people who can't properly spell and punctuate when creating something like that who will bring about the complete downfall of our civilization.

(It should be "we're", as in "we are" - not "were" which is past tense. Or potentially a reference to lycanthropy, but that doesn't seem likely from the context. ;)

Well, it was easier to find what I needed on google images than to reshoop it for maximum correctness.

Yeah, I know, and I didn't really mean to rant on you. It's just that it's one thing to make a typo or error in a blog post or the like - but when captioning an image like this, I'd think people would take an extra moment to be certain they'd gotten it right before putting it out in front of Teh Intarwebz, y'know?

The concept of Jedi weresquirrels fills me with dread. Especially if they have been drinking coffee...

Perhaps - but keep in mind that one swat from the paw of a werebear and they're history. ;)

G.I. Joes and a dead squirrel... what am I not getting here?

I didn't get it either. Perhaps it's the idea of two macho he-men taking great pride in bringing down a dangerous and ferocious... squirrel?

A good deal of the humor is from the skewed perspective. If you get to G.I.Joe, your brain has processed too much.

HuH? Given the grass and the cracks in the pavement and the other visual cues, my brain immediately snapped to "squirrel with dolls". I didn't really have to think about it at all.
