  • "This is scary. Unlike Massachusetts, Iowa is an agricultural breadbasket. Watch crop yields plumett now. God takes His revenge in many ways. Just ask those people burned out of their homes (or had their crops dry up from drought) in California. Russia’s crop yields plummeted too, once she became an atheistic nation in 1922."
  • "More judges added to the ‘people to horsewhip’ list."
  • "This is for all of those that said the Family Protection Act was not necessary. How's it feel to have three judges spit in the eyes of the overwhelming majority."
  • "We live in a Judicial Tyranny."
  • "We are fools if we think that God’s judgment will not come to this land. Fools."
"IOW marrigage based on popping an orgasm rather than benefit to society."
  • "I am beginning to believe that there is no silent majority. The queers and the unemployed are running the country. I am a slave, 2/3rds of my taxes go into the pocket of someone else."
  • "There is no justice in the land."
  • "The USA is much more the fascist dictatorship than the kind of govt of the people it was founded to be."
  • "I have no problems with gays getting married. They just have to marry someone of the opposite sex, just like normal people. No special privileges for them!"
  • "True. They can even have a 100% gay marriage...a queer can marry a carpet muncher!"
That noise you hear in the background is heads also exploding at Mormon headquarters and the American Family Association. The Mormons are probably already trying to figure out how to overturn it -- and how much it will cost. But, the times are changing -- and changing fast. More and more Americans support marriage equality and it's only going to increase. The haters know that and it's driving them crazy.

Today, in Iowa, equality means equality. The Haters won a battle with Prop H8. They're losing their Culture War.

There will come a time when they collapse into a black neutron star, like a 21st Century Wicked Witch, and vanish altogether.

I think it'll be fairly soon.

Yeah, I even know people who pray that it happens soon.

The stupid, it burns....
"Most people are not against legal protection for gays and some form of legal union. What people object to is that they want to strip the word marriage of it's Biblical meaning.

That is the entire point of the commies pushing this. They are basically trampling on the rights of Christians and other religions to determine what their scriptures mean."
Given the concept of Separation of Church and State, the word "marriage" in the context of a state law HAS no "Biblical" meaning!

It may do you some good to look at your State's statutes governing marriage. It's a good reminder that the separation isn't really there and is now more by custom and case law than by legislation.

That "mingling of convenience", allowing clergy to act as agents of the state to solemnize marriages, is to blame for most of the US' present problems, for it has led to the woeful conflation of the two separate concepts: the State's "Civil Marriage" and Religion's "Holy Matrimony".

I WAS ONCE ACCUSED OF CATHOLIC BASHING....

Don't forget that it was the Roman Catholic Bishops who engaged the Mormons and who lead the fight against Prop 8 with funds funneled through the Knights of Columbus.

Lets face it... the man in the Vatican was the head of the Holy Inquisition before he was elected to the number 1 spot. Remember.. they were the ones who tortured and burned alive 100’s of thousands of innocent folks.

The Papal Office of the Holy Inquisition is not the same as the Spanish Inquisition. The latter group answered to the King of Spain, not the Pope, and was by far more bloody. Likewise with the Portuguese Inquisition.

According to Wikipedia, the Roman Inquisition held approximately 62,000 trials, of which about 2% ended in a capital sentence. The total death toll is closer to 1,200 people than hundreds of thousands. That does not diminish the crime, but two orders of magnitude is an error which should be corrected.

Culture War

Think carefully about that phrase, please.
