I bet you didn't know that Fanta was conceived by the Nazi's in the 30s!

During World War 2, there was a trade ban imposed on Germany, therefore they could not able to import syrup needed to produce Coca Cola. As a result, their chief chemist developed a new product made from ingredients only found in Germany. The original flavors were apple and cheese! Ick!

Oh, yes. Originally marketed as a cure for morphine addiction, the silly twits....

While completely banned here, heroin (usually under the names diamorphine or diacetylmorphine) is used in some countries for pain relief, in part because it's more soluble (in cases where a smaller liquid volume is helpful), and less actual drug is needed because the acetylation speeds its transport into the brain.
