Out Magazine has unveiled its 3d annual "Power 50," a compendium of the most influential gay men and women in America, and -- no surprise -- it's full of heavy-hitters who call the Bay State (or New England) home.
Topping this year's list is congressman Barney Frank, chairman of the House Financial Service Committee. At No. 4, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow -- she of the chunky glasses, whipsmart political sense, and wry wit -- who lives in Western Mass. At No. 7, it's Episcopal Bishop V. Gene Robinson of New Hampshire.
No. 23 is the tireless blogger/author/pot-stirrer Andrew Sullivan, who's racked up a couple of degrees from Harvard, and, if memory serves, has a place in Provincetown. Another Harvard guy, Chris Hughes, who help found social-networking leviathan Facebook, comes in at No. 32.
