Patersonqa From the Q&A with Paterson following the press conference yesterday. This morning Towleroad posted that Democratic senator Ruben Diaz Sr. is organizing a protest to rally against the same-sex marriage bill.

Paterson was asked about Diaz, Sr. and his beliefs yesterday. Answered Paterson: "I didn't know he was convening Christ's Army, because I thought I was a member of it, and I'm in favor of gay marriage."

I remember when the Texas sodomy statute was over turned and how that led to a landslide of such actions... are we seeing the same thing?

Any landslide on sodomy statutes was due to the US Supreme Court declaring them unconstitutional in Lawrence v. Texas.

I think water dripping from the ceiling may be more apt: drip, drip, trickle, stream, SWOOSH! We're probably at the beginning of trickle.

The first was federal. Marriage is still progressing state-by-state at this point. And given the present Supreme Court, that is a Very Good Thing.

By the way, Nate Silver here makes a convincing case that we're nearing a nationwide tipping point on marriage equality. From your lips to God's ear, Nate.

Kos also reported this work by Nate.

One of the readers put those number
on the map. VERY interesting.

In the meantime, we can use the distraction of Silver's work while we wait on the California Supreme Court as they choose between a terribly unpopular opinion, and one that would be disastrous for the Constitution.

I actually visualize the SWOOSH! as the conservatards having marriage diarrhea...or the strong stream of water filling Barney Frank's bathtub (since the GOP is now small enough for it to be drowned in there...I'm sure it's tastefully decorated :) )....
