When I think or hear "The Hut", I think Jabba. Nevermind the extra T.

There's an image that's not gonna sell too many pizzas. Click image for story.

Seriously.

That is exactly what I think of, too.

Ugly logo and a really dumb re-branding.

Marketing people have to justify their existance so they advocate change when change isn't all that good. Madison Avenue needs to take a break for about 10 years.

Who the fuck calls it "The Hit" to begin with?

Truth in Advertising: I wouldn't exactly call their signature product "pizza", but, then again, I'm originally from Chicago.

What is with all these epic rebrand fails as of late? Pepsi's bleak new look would fit in more with generic laundry detergent. The Tropicana one was such a disaster that they pulled it after only six weeks.

If I were thinking Pizza, I wouldn't just automatically think "Hut"... Nope, doesn't work. Fail.

Here's a radical idea for them: "Hey guys, why not try UPPING THE FUCKING QUALITY OF YOUR CRAPPY TASTING PIZZA?!"

Would have been a lot cheaper than changing all the damn signs and menus and stationery.

To me, Pizza Hut will forever be the "Go To The Freezer, Get The Box" people so terribly (and justly) lambasted in the Round Table Pizza radio campaign from WAY too many years ago.

Ditto Little Caesar's.

You know, when the Bake@Home VoldeMart Pizzas are better and only $9 for 16" Supreme... the only way you get more customers is quality and service.

PS) On the other hand, think of all the time saved by a million teenage boys who won't have to utter the word "Pizza" when they talk about going to "Slut".

Look at KFC which is not necessarily "fried" any longer. Years back when Kentucky Fried Chicken rebranded to KFC, they did so because of the connotation of unhealthiness of "fried".

"The Hut" may be enough to convince people through the door but who knows? (I like their new pastas though.)

Probably because they sell more than pizza I am guessing.

I love the justification was that it was for the texting generation. Because "The Hut" is a whopping two keys shorter than "Pizza Hut". :P
