Via Joe.My.God:
From a Texas Tribune poll:
Nearly a third of Texans believe humans and dinosaurs roamed the earth at the same time, and more than half disagree with the theory that humans developed from earlier species of animals, according to the University of Texas/Texas Tribune Poll. The differences in beliefs about evolution and the length of time that living things have existed on earth are reflected in the political and religious preference of our respondents, who were asked four questions about biological history and God.

"When polled, 75% of Texans believe roadrunners are over 4' tall and covered in purple feathers, coyotes can run on their hind legs and have opposable thunbs, and pianos fall out of the sky at random intervals."

I saw that - makes me embarrassed to live in Texas.

I still want an Acme Orbital Anvil Launcher(TM) though.

It's not just Texas; the numbers are similar to the averages for the whole country.

I'm wondering about those who disbelieve evolution but also disagree that humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time. What theory are they adhering to? If you're a creationist of any stripe, you necessarily believe the human+dinosaur thing. This indicates that a certain number of people either follow a very interesting creation theory that I've never heard of, or are too stupid to answer the questions in a logically consistent fashion.

Indeed. The real problems arise when the info-smog gets so thick that judges and politicians are fundamentally unable to use science in decision making, even when they approach it with honest intentions.

This makes my monkey ancestors cry.

Luckily, their pet velociraptors love to lick sweet monkey tears...
