Spending time w/ David @ Transplant Clinic. They've spent the last hour trying to find a vein. Would help if they had got more of the edema off before discharging him yesterday. Even one of the more experienced phlebotomists is having trouble.

I'd loan you the one you nailed my arm on Thursday for me pre-surgery checkup.

Fastest I have ever been tapped for blood, and I didn't even realize that she was doing it until she said she was done.

So would you say their labors have been in vein?

Have they considered implanting an infusion port? Or at least leaving a dialysis catheter in?

Finally out of there at 7PM... with a PICC line. The dialysis catheter was removed after the 4th surgery produced a working shunt, it was also suspect in last years septicemia admissions.

Would it make sense for them to put in a PIC(C?) line for a while?

OMG - I feel so bad for him - that is horrible! An hour trying to find a vein - sounds like what my father used to go through after two open heart surgeries.

Hope tomorrow is a better day.
