I found a brilliant parody of a “Chick Tract,” those bizarre and slightly disturbing evangelical comic strips which assert that anyone who doesn’t accept a very narrow interpretation of Evangelical Christianity is going to spend eternity in a place that looks a lot like the cover to a Black Sabbath album from the 1970′s.

This parody, which satirized the Chick Tract from the position of H.P. Lovecraft’s “Cthulthu Mythos” was quite funny. Alas, with the demise of Geocities, that link has also perished, so I was forced to search for it again. So, here is the (I apologize that the language is a bit rough) enjoy, and remember, you must except the Old Ones, if you want to be eaten first!

Chick tracts were the only comics our church would "let" us read. My fave, of course, was "The Gay Blade."

Absolute brilliance. Thank you for sharing.

The best part is that it's not one bit less absurd than anything Jack Chick has produced.

I LOVE Chick tracts! He has several about the horrors of being a Mason. They are quite entertaining!

I have loved HP Lovecraft ever since I discovered him in my teens... along with Edgar Allen Poe

Brilliant.

I remember those Chick tracts being left around in the nursing home where my grandmother was--I was a little kid at the time and those tracts gave me the heebie-jeebies.
