He is absolutely gorgeous and the combined iconography of the Orthodox church and La Día de los Muertos is wonderful.

Some of the other prints from the cycle are a bit too kitschy for my taste (particularly Ganymede), but they're all very well executed and the best (e.g. this one) are quite striking. Thanks!

I liked this one, Zeus, Eros, & Neptune.

I still remember the original pic that Ganymede is based on.

The Ganymead image was lifted from a poster for San Francisco's Bearracuda club night, so it wasn't done with this sort of digital collage in mind. It was done by Eric Nielson. Zeus is a self-portrait by David Goldenberg. I'd be curious to know if he got permission to use their work.

That doesn't say "lifted" does it? http://alphadesigner.com/blog/the-kidnapping-of-ganymede/

And Zeus is not exactly a self-portrait by Dave Goldenberg, it's a photo OF David Goldenberg taken by photographer Vincent Keith: http://alphadesigner.com/blog/decorating-gods-part-3-zeus/

Um, hi, I am the "asshole". My name is Yanko Tsvetkov and I am the author of the whole series and - accidentally - the person on the photo above. Nice to meet you. Sorry for not announcing that before, I'm not an experienced LiveJournal user and I'm not very clear about how the commenting system here works.

Thank you for the explanation. It was not my intention to insult your work - which is beautiful. I was wondering aloud how these came about, and you answered the question that these are in fact collaborations with the other photographers.

Thanks, no offense taken. Those are just some of the many collaborations from the times when Flickr was still an active photo community. Apart from Eric Nielsen and Vincent Keith, the collection features collaborations with Manel Ortega, Violenz, Jeremy Lucido and myself. Not all of the works are included in the site but I hope I will be able to fix that soon.
