I want to smile. I want to cry in joy.

Fantastic speech.

For the first time since 1980 and the decades of republican ascendancy, I heel hope and pride again.

I broke into tears multiple times, it's all very surreal and overwhelming.

That was the biggest shout-out we gays have EVER gotten from a national party.

You'd better believe it, brother! *bearhug*

Yes - and remember, he walked in the door with that during the 04 convention keynote speech as well, so this wasn't new for him - still, he's pretty fucking fearless that way and I'm moved so much that I feel a bit high, actually.

I actually feel my curmudgeonly carapace of cynicism cracking.

Scary.

OMG - watching Fox News explode is FUCKING AWESOME.

They must be absolutely shitting themselves on the right.

Obama & Biden and company have called bullshit on all their tired rhetoric and scare tactics. Will make it look pretty sad & tired when they try it again next week.

Indeed - and just imagine, they're going to be upstaged by yet another hurricane in New Orleans/Gulf Coast...

Let them eat (Birthday) cake.

I'm sure McCain & company really don't want the American public reminded of where Dumbya was while New Orleans went under water.

I am very impressed with what he said and how he said it. I am also feeling much less invisible now. A few people seem to think I can't put aside what has transpired in the past eight months. That is not the case. I am very keen on what is at stake here if McCain were to win. That cannot happen.

This dual bitch-slap to Bush and McCain was priceless: "But the record's clear: John McCain has voted with George Bush ninety percent of the time. Senator McCain likes to talk about judgment, but really, what does it say about your judgment when you think George Bush has been right more than ninety percent of the time? I don't know about you, but I'm not ready to take a ten percent chance on change."

[identity profile] furrbear.livejournal.com 2008-08-29 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
And calling BullShit on McCain's tactics and rhetoric. Now when they go back to it, they'll just look even more lame.

I'm thinking I'll see what's in the NetFlix queue next week instead of watching the StPaul trainwreck.

I'll be really curious to see the comparative ratings for the St. Paul convention as opposed to Denver. Will anyone be watching?

That speech was amazing. It was soooooooo great to hear Obama come out swinging, and to nail so many important points in that one speech. He attacked McCain ont he issues, he hauled up the Republicans on their use of the Karl Rove "slime the opponent" playbook, answered his critics who have said he isn't specific on what he means by change, he echoed Kennedy's "we will send a man to the moon" pledge with one for our time ("we will end our addiction to Middle East oil within ten years"), gave Americans some reason to have hope for a better future and challenged all of us to make America a better nation.

Wow.

I thought a lot of Obama before last night, but that speech was just amazing.

If that doesn't make a majority of Americans reject another four years of having an underachieving frat-boy in the White House, I don't know what will.
