The Register readers responded to the call for nominations for the worst net neologism - Mephistophelean vocab so hideous in countenance that it must be viewed only as a reflection in a bronze shield lest the reader be turned immediately to stone.

With that in mind, you're advised to approach the list below with extreme caution. Before you do, a couple of points. We've grouped some related words/abbrevations together, such as ROFL, ROFLMAO and ROFLCOPTER, while prefixes or suffixes commonly tacked on to just about any word that can stand it are shown with an * , such as *tard (fucktard, commentard) and i* (iPod, iBook, iCon). Same applies to *2.0 (Web 2.0, etc, etc) - you get the idea.
